Wake County District Court Judge
Judge Vince Rozier has embraced the role of public servant. As a Wake County District Court Judge, former Wake County prosecutor, and as the Ombudsman for the North Carolina Department of Justice, Judge Vince Rozier has made numerous decisions affecting the citizens of North Carolina.
Prior to his work as a Judge and Prosecutor, Vince Rozier, Jr. already had a distinguished educational background. A native of Tar Heel, NC, Judge Vince Rozier graduated as Valedictorian of Tar Heel Middle - Sr. High School in 1994. Receiving numerous awards and scholarships, he moved on to attend UNC-Chapel Hill with the Joseph Pogue, full academic scholarship.

After graduating from UNC, Judge Rozier attended North Carolina Central University's School Of Law. There he participated on the Trial Advocacy team and various other organizations, such as Christian Legal Society. Rozier was a member of the Family Law, Civil, and Criminal Litigations Clinics. He also served as a Student Teacher with Street Law Program in Durham.
In 2006, Judge Rozier became the youngest Judge in Wake County history when he was sworn in at the age 29 after being nominated by his peers to serve as a Wake County District Court Judge. Following his appointment, he was elected by the citizens of Wake County to serve another four years as Wake County Judge. After an unsuccessful re-election bid in 2010, Vince Rozier was appointed by Attorney General Roy Cooper to serve as the first Ombudsman to the State Bureau of Investigation for the NC Department of Justice. This was in an effort to restore public confidence in the SBI by making recommendations to the Attorney General. In 2011, the attorneys of Wake County again nominated him to return to service as a Wake County District Court Judge.
As a judge, he continues to be an active member of the Wake County Bar Association, where he served on the Board of Directors, Ad Hoc Legal Aid Committee, and Rule of Law Conference for high school students. Rozier is a regular Judge for the Capital Area Teen Court. He serves as the Interim Chair for Project Ricochet, Inc. and is also a Board member for SAFEchild (www.safechild.org). Additionally, he has received the North Carolina State University Gus Witherspoon Community Award for politics. Rozier has continued to be a valued member of the community, speaking at numerous churches and schools. He has spoken to over 3,000 students.
Judge Rozier the son of Rev. Vinston Rozier, Sr., a pastor, and Lynne Rozier, a teacher, who reside in Bladen County, NC. He is married to Attorney Dekhasta Becton Rozier of Raleigh, NC. She also attended UNC-Chapel Hill, where she received her Juris Doctorate and B.A. in Political Science. She is currently employed as the Dean of Extended Studies at St. Augustine’s College in Raleigh, NC and a member of the Becton Law Group with her father and brothers who are all attorneys. He and his wife currently attend Body of Christ Church in Raleigh, NC.

Judge Rozier was administered the Oath of Office on February 24th, 2006 by Supreme Court Justice Patricia Timmons-Goodson and re-appointed in May 2011 by Governor Beverly Perdue.
