Come and take a yard sign!

I have served the people of Wake County as a District Court Judge since 2006, after being nominated by the attorneys as a choice to replace a retiring judge.  Having presided over thousands of cases in District Court, I understand the need to have judges who are qualified and committed to protecting the public and protecting the rights of the community.  Each day I have endeavored to be such a judge.

I have presided over hundreds of Family Court cases, thousands of traffic cases, hundreds to thousands of divorces and thousands of traffic cases.  As a former prosecutor, I have prosecuted thousands of DWIs, tried over 70 cases before Wake County juries, tried over 500 cases in District Court. As a prosecutor, I handled all types of cases. I tried and convicted First Degree Murderers and Armed Robbers. I prosecuted Drug Traffickers. I also worked on cases involving Domestic Violence Juvenile Crime and DWI's.  I now use that experience in my day to day activities as a District Court Judge.

I endeavor to exhibit integrity, honesty and fairness with each case. Likewise, my commitment to serving the community and striving to be a role model to our youth will not cease.  I have dedicated much of my time to speaking to over 3,000 Wake County students and assisting programs such as the Capital Area Teen Court and SAFEchild.

More citizens will have contact with District Court than with any other area of our Court system. With rising caseloads in each courtroom, we need to Re-Elect and Elect Judges who are experienced in District Court and capable of properly administering Justice in those court rooms. I have presided over numerous and a variety of cases. From Child Support Enforcement to seat belt infractions, I have administered the law and have maintained a reputation for being fair and reasonable.

I have not forgotten the Oath I took to uphold the Constitution of my State and Country. The responsibility that comes with the position as a District Court Judge is owed to the citizens of Wake County and the citizens of this State.

Swearing in under Oath
